Diamond Street Early Childhood Center is a medium sized nonprofit Daycare and Preschool. We are a ministry of the Akron Mennonite Church and strive to educate and nurture the whole child in an environment that emphasizes peaceful resolutions to conflict and Christ's love. We seek to hire individuals who are high energy and have a passion for providing children with the opportunity to reach their potential despite outside circumstances.
Qualifications                                           
  • Minimum 2 years of professional child care experience/2500 verifiable hours working with children (not related to you)

  • Assistant Teachers: High School Diploma, CDA or Associates Degree in Early childhood

  • Lead Teachers: Bachelors degree in Early Childhood or related (preferred)

  • High energy and the ability to work well with others (staff, children, and parents) and to foster a team environment.

  • An understanding of child development.

  • Must clear full background check and must pass health screening.

  • Must be able to lift 30 lbs. and move freely around a typical classroom in order to safely supervise the children at all times.
