     Our kindergarten program is housed at 105 N. 11th Street in Mt. Zion United Methodist Church. The space is arranged specifically for school-age children.  Our kindergarten is a private program registered with the Department of Education. Our teacher has a B.A in Elementary Education and Early Childhood Education. She plans lessons using the PA Early Learning Standards, incorporating learning in all the areas: cognitive, social-emotional, fine and gross motor, and communication.  

     The kindergarten schedule follows the Ephrata Area School District calendar. On “no school” days or early dismissals children can arrange to attend DSECC. Children bring a sack lunch each day.

Full-Day Kindergarten - Children can choose the full-day option (8:30 am-3:00 pm) or the half-day option.

Half-Day Kindergarten – Children who attend Akron Elementary or Fulton Elementary in the Ephrata Area School District can attend our half-day kindergarten. We have a van to transport to and from Fulton. Children who attend Akron are accompanied by adults who walk them the three blocks to and from Akron Elementary.  Children have the benefit of full-day kindergarten when they come to us for the other half-day.

            Before and/or After-School Care can be added to a kindergarten day                 

                Before School – 6:30-8:30 am (includes breakfast)

                  After School – 3:30-6:00 pm (includes afternoon snack)
